Stearns Continues Fight Against Science and Research
July 31, 2006Republican Congressman Cliff Stearns (R-Ocala) voted Thursday to uphold President Bush's first Presidential veto. Rather than rid the federal budget of wasteful pork, Stearns and Bush elected to veto spending on HR 810, federal funding for stem cell research.

April 20, 2006Gainesville Democrat David E. Bruderly was officially qualified as the lone Democratic candidate for the Sixth District seat in the United States House of Representatives Friday. Qualifying closed at noon on that date. Bruderly qualified via the petition process.

BRUDERLY RETURNS HOME, AFTER MEETING CANDIDATES
February 13, 2006Dave Bruderly, District 6 Democratic Congressional candidate, returned Friday, from Washington, D.C., after taking take part in the largest single-party conference of veterans since 1946. The group, known as the Band of Brothers 2006, are veterans running for Congress on the Democratic ticket.

BRUDERLY HEADS FOR CAPITOL FOR VETERANS CONFERENCE
February 6, 2006Dave Bruderly, District 6 Democratic Congressional candidate, will travel to Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, to take part in the largest single-party conference of veterans since 1946. The Gainesville Professional Engineer served in the United States Merchant Marine and the U.S. Naval Reserve, after attending the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y.

FLORIDA DEMOCRATS GATHER IN ORLANDO THIS WEEKEND
December 8, 2005More than 3000 Democrats throughout the Sunshine State will converge on Orlando this weekend, as the Florida Democratic Party hosts their annual Conference at the Contemporary Resort and Hotel at Walt Disney World. The event, taking place on December 9th, 10th and 11th, will feature appearances by national political figures, as well as training seminars to encourage organizational improvements in statewide Democratic politics.

NEW POLL: MAJORITY OF FLORIDIANS DO NOT APPROVE OF PRESIDENT BUSH, WAR IN IRAQ
October 16, 2005A new poll by conservative polling organization Strategic Vision shows, for the first time, a majority of Florida voters disapprove of the overall job performance of President George W. Bush. A majority also do not approve of Bush's handling of the War in Iraq or the handling of the Hurricane Katrina disaster.
