Issues
We must protect the Constitution and restore respect for American laws and political
institutions.
I support the policy that has worked for sixty years - diplomacy backed
by strength and cooperation, not preemptive war. I believe that we can
work to make less fortunate countries responsible and self-sufficient.
We must ask not what our community will do for us, but what we can do for our families, our community and our country.
I am a fiscal conservative. I support initiatives that create productive jobs with
investments in American infrastructure and technology and eliminate incentives and
subsidies for outsourcing.
The public is beginning to lose confidence in the integrity and competence of industry and government
energy officials. I know we can do better.
American troops continue to experience attacks from Iraqi insurgents, mostly trained soldiers from
the former Iraqi army and terrorists from other countries. American military units have performed magnificently;
we have the best soldiers in the world. If only we had the best civilian leaders...
Every American has a right to health care. I support building a health care and
insurance system which is competitive, high quality, cost efficient, and equitable.
Americans are entitled to receive the pension and social security benefits they have earned.
I support maintaining and strengthening veterans' benefits. Veterans are entitled to no less than full medical
coverage by a doctor they trust available near the place where they live.
We must provide teachers with funding and tools so our children will learn to
compete and prosper in the global economy.
My experience has convinced me that we can have it all - a robust economy, pristine
ecosystems, and healthy environment.
